MANAGER Richard Dryden wants his Worcester City team to hit the ground running when the new season starts next month.
The St George’s Lane side begin their Blue Square South campaign at home to Bromley on Saturday, August 8, followed by a trip to St Albans City three days later.
City then visit Woking on Saturday, August 15, and host Basingstoke the Monday after that.
Dryden said: “I am just concentrating on the first four games which come in the space of two weeks.
“It’s important we get a good pre-season and keep injuries to a minimum as there are a lot of games at the start of the season.
“We will be looking to pick up as many points as we can in August and September.”
As with last season, City face Newport County twice over the festive period, with the Welshmen visiting the Lane on Boxing Day and then playing hosts on New Year’s Day.
Dryden’s charges will play Havant and Waterlooville twice in two weeks in February.
Worcester will also be at home on the final day of the season when Eastleigh visit on Saturday, April 24.
Dryden added: “It’s always good to start the season off with a win — home or away — and hopefully we can get everything right and start the season off like we did last year.”
