WORCESTER City are hoping for a bumper bank holiday crowd as they seek to make it five games unbeaten in Blue Square Bet North.

Fresh from a 1-1 draw at Stafford Rangers on Saturday, which followed three consecutive victories, Carl Heeley’s team host Solihull Moors at St George’s Lane today (3pm).

City, sixth in the table, have attracted decent gates for the visits of Gainsborough Trinity and Hinckley United and are eager for a repeat against ninth-placed Moors, 2-1 winners over Gloucester at the weekend.

Boss Heeley said: “We need to back up the Stafford draw with a win. It is a good, solid start, winning three, drawing one and losing one out of the first five.

“On the whole, over the five games we’re happy. The matches we’ve played have been entertaining.

“Saturday wasn’t a classic, it was more workmanlike so it would be encouraging to see a decent-sized crowd.

“Solihull are a young side, very energetic and will work hard. It’s a local derby again so we have to be on our guard and at our best to give ourselves the greatest chance of winning the game.”

Tom Evans and Jamie Price are expected to continue in place of Rob Elvins and Shabir Khan in defence, while Mark Clyde looks set to play a second game in 48 hours.
