- James Baldwin let fly from 20 yards and found the top corner via a deflection to open the floodgates 11 minutes in.
- Dave Reynolds made sure on the line after the second of Baldwin's two shots across goal had beaten keeper Scott Low.
- Reynolds then lashed in from a similar position as Baldwin's opener with a dipping shot that found the top corner but the quality of the strikes was set to grow.
- Mat Birley and Tyler Weir sliced through United on the right for the latter to tee up a tap-in for Baldwin.
- Then a ferocious dipping 30-yard blast from Brad Birch marked the fifth just past the half-hour mark.
- There was little incident from there as City saw out victory and a clean sheet with relative ease.
