NEW signings Aaron Williams and Richard Munday were the goalscorers as Worcester City won their latest pre-season friendly 2-1 against Paulton Rovers.
Carl Heeley’s side, however, had to come from behind in a match played on a good surface at Stanley Park Sports Ground in Chippenham.
City, with six players aged 19 or under, started slowly and within two minutes were 1-0 down after a well-worked move was finished off by Josh Klein-Davies.
Rovers dominated the opening exchanges but afterwards Worcester took control and were rewarded after nine minutes when Williams produced a calm finish when one-one-one with the keeper following a defensive error.
After further pressure it was soon 2-1 when a Tom Thorley corner was headed home by Munday.
City keeper Matt Sargeant was forced into two decent saves to deny Paulton.
City: Sargeant, G Williams, Flanagan, Thorley, Hutchison, Munday, D Williams, Walker, A Williams, Glover, Turne. Subs: Shabir, Nelson, Lemmon, Snape.
