WORCESTER City will meet Redditch United in Saturday's Worcestershire FA Senior Cup final thanks to Tristian Dunkley's winning goal 10 minutes from time in a competitive 2-1 success at Evesham United.

Redditch earned the right to play the Blue and Whites at Aggborough after a 3-0 penalty shoot-out win over Kidderminster Harriers at the Valley Stadium.

Evesham's cause in their semi-final was not helped when Marcus Jackson was sent off by Holt Heath referee John Law just after the hour mark and then defender Liam Harding limped off, leaving the Robins to play the last 10 minutes with just nine men.

After a cagey opening, the game sprung to life when United took a 12th-minute lead. Ashley Williams threaded a ball in from the right which found last season's leading scorer Ashley Edenborough and he coolly buried a shot past keeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston into the bottom corner.

City should have levelled moments later at the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium but, after charging down keeper Josh Goddard`s attempted clearance, striker Ryan Rowe contrived to lift his shot over the bar with the goal at his mercy.

A period of City pressure, however, was rewarded in the 26th minute when attacking midfielder Sean Geddes squared the tie at 1-1 with a well-struck drive beyond the reach of reserve team keeper Goddard.

The young custodian then safely gathered forward Daniel Nti's flicked header at his near post and watched centre-half Alex Gudger's effort sail over from Ellis Deeney's corner as City pressed for an interval lead.

But United finished the half on the front foot as Jared Wilson planted a volley wide from distance and Edenborough drove the wrong side of the upright with Lloyd-Weston beaten.

However, Evesham faced an uphill task in the second-half following Jackson's departure after an altercation with City left-back Darren Campion and were fortunate to remain on level terms when Nti crashed a shot against the woodwork and Geddes blazed the rebound high and wide.

At the opposite end, United had penalty appeals turned down after Lee Smith was sent sprawling in the box before Dunkley settled the contest in the 80th minute, sweeping the ball home after a clearance by the Evesham defence fell kindly into the path of the City substitute.

While Worcester meet Redditch at Aggborough on Saturday (3pm), the third-place play-off match will be between Evesham and Kidderminster at Bromsgrove Sporting's Victoria Ground at the same time.
