RICHARD Dryden says Worcester City will be intent on earning three points when they visit Hyde United.

City have not played since the 1-1 draw at Nuneaton Borough on February 12 but head to Cheshire for the first of two matches in 48 hours, with Vauxhall Motors to come at St George's Lane on Monday.

And with only 12 games of the season to go, Dryden knows his team cannot afford to be settling for single-point returns.

He said: "We need to pick up three points and we are going there to win the game.

"We need to be organised at the back and if we can get three points it sets us up nicely for Monday night."

Dryden was able to view both teams at first hand on Tuesday when he took a trip to Ellesmere Port to watch Hyde beat Vauxhall Motors 4-3.

Matthew Tipton, who scored against City in Hyde's 2-0 win on the opening day of the season, netted twice, while former Worcester target Gareth Seddon and Lee Cartwright also struck.

The City boss was impressed with what he saw from Saturday's opponents but thinks they have weaknesses that can be exploited.

"They gamble a fair bit because they keep three up front all the time," Dryden said.

"As long as the back four can look after them we are going to have a right go at them.

"Three up front leaves holes in a few places but when they get the ball forward they can destroy teams and you can see that from where they are in the league."

Dryden wants his team to play like they did in the second-half against Nuneaton and insists there will be no repeat of the Hucknall no-show.

He said: "I have stressed to everybody at the club that that won't happen again.

"If you are not playing well there's no reason why you can't get your physical work in."

Captain Chris Smith is back in training after missing the Hucknall and Nuneaton ga-mes with an ankle injury and could make a welcome return to the side.

His inclusion alongside Jon Munday could see Ryan Cla-rke switched to right-back and Graham Ward return to a midfield role, while Rapinder Gill looks likely to get the nod at left-back.

Nick Colley may also have played himself into contention following a fine second-half display against Nuneaton.

Craig Wilding will once again spearhead the City attack but Adam Webster has had a virus and was set to miss training tonight as a precaution.

Matt Dinsmore is the likely replacement if Webster is not fit to start.

"It's nice to have some options," the manager said.
