WORCESTER City went down fighting as they lost 3-2 at Havant and Waterlooville.
Manny Williams put the hosts two up, one a first-half penalty, but Mark Clyde halved the deficit as City refused to give up.
Williams netted his hat-trick 10 minutes from time only for Alfie Carter to pull one back in the 90th-minute.
There was still time for Gary Walker to be denied by keeper Aaron Howe in a thrilling finale.
