WORCESTER City manager Carl Heeley says he does not regret his actions after almost coming to blows with Histon assistant boss Brian Paige.
The pair had to be separated following Monday’s 1-1 Blue Square Bet North draw at St George’s Lane with Heeley being restrained by deputy Matt Gardiner.
The City boss felt Histon were guilty of persistent time-wasting and also accused striker Pelayo Gomez-Pico of trying to con Worcestershire referee Marvyn Amphlett.
“We’d just had enough of the play-acting, cynical fouling and the time-wasting that I didn’t feel got clamped down on,” Heeley said.
“It’s incredibly frustrating when the game’s disrupted. I kept looking round for a sniper because the number of times their number 10 went down play-acting was scary but he escaped punishment and sometimes that happens.
“Teams time-wasting is part and parcel of the game, they are clinging on for a point and I understand that but you need the referee to deal with it appropriately.”
Asked if he regretted the incident, Heeley said: “No, not at all. There was plenty being said that was unacceptable.
“When you make the antics that their assistant manager did, confrontation is the only way and nobody is going to come here and take liberties with me or Worcester City.”

Richard Hill hasnt been in a fight because his players do that, Rugby has more on the field fights than football.
To be honest you dont know the full facts of what was said to a few of our players to prevoke the ugly scenes, if you would of heard what was said then Im sure you would have been involved if in Carls position !!
And to correct you..we actually scored 3 goals, two of them offside, one of which was incorrect decision by a poor match official, he was one of three on the night also.
As far as the technical area goes, the fracas was after the game and the rules regarding the technical area does not apply, even if it did, everything happened inside of the technical area anyway !!

Im not talking about the fights between supporters, theres always a ruck on the PITCH between the players !!

Im glad you have done your research on Histon, did you also read up that their manager once played for Millwall ?? Did you also read that they were in the Conference Prem last season ??
Despite having 25 times the population ?? well most of the population of worcester wasnt on the pitch the other night against Histon was it ??
You say 'unorganised wrestling bout' well the boss on the pitch during the 90 minutes is the Referee and his Assistants....If it was unorganised comments regarding match officials !!

As a life long Worcester City fan, grumpy fans like you really wind me up. We should be sticking up for our club, not slating them in this manner. Get behind your club like a true fan and help us become a great side. They may be teribble at the moment but they have the potential.

Demonstrating why rugby is such a better sport. I can't remember the last time Richard Hill started fighting the opposition staff. Grow up. If you can only score 1 goal against 10 man Histon (where even is that) then I think I know where the problem lies.

City fans care about their club, Worriers fans will just crawl back under the stone from where they came, bunch of gloryhunters who had no interest in WRFL when they were in the lower leagues!!!
Carl cares passionately about the City being connected to the club for many years. Hill may care more about his paypacket more than his club loyalty.

However, where were the 1000s of supporters when the 'Warriors' were in lower leagues? As you say , glory hunters. Look how the crowds diminished when they got relegated and now all of a sudden the shirts are back out as they are in the top league again.
City supporters could never be called glory hunters. We follow our local team through thick or thin, instead of slating the team, why not come and see just how entertaining the die is this season and what a difference a passionate Carl Heeley and new board have made to the team.
And what difference does the size of a town make to the success of a club? The borough of Fulham has about 165K, Worcester has about 100K. does that mean we should be nearly half as good as Fulham. Utter rubbish.
