A FORMERWorcester City footballer who posted a racist tweet against immigrants on Remembrance Day was ordered to pay £600 in fines and costs today.
Lee Smith, 28, whose contract at Worcester was not renewed after he was charged, used foul language in the tweet, which called for illegal immigrants to be killed.
Since the offence Smith has not been able to find another football club to sign him, magistrates in Cheltenham were told.
Smith pleaded not guilty to posting a racially aggravated, threatening, abusive or insulting tweet which was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He was convicted and fined £100 plus £500 costs.
