MANAGER Carl Heeley says Danny Edwards will be given every opportunity to play again for Worcester City.

The winger has seen his comeback from cruciate ligament damage halted by a suspect broken ankle.

He sustained the injury in an accidental challenge minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 4-0 defeat at Hednesford Town on Easter Monday.

Following his knee injury in March 2013, which reuqired surgery, City kept Edwards involved with the squad as part of his rehabilitation.

Now they are willing to do the same again in a bid for him to prove his worth ahead of the 2014-15 campaign.

Heeley, whose side host Boston United in their final Skrill North match tomorrow (3pm), said: "It's never nice getting an injury but if there's any positive to be taken from it, it has come at the right time from a football perspective.

"He will get the opportunity to get the injury right in the summer and he's welcome to come back in pre-season. The least we can do is give him the opportunity to get himself fit.

"As much as he will be disappointed, he will get over it and he's got character so I am sure he will come back and go again."

The club's annual awards night will take place tomorrow in the Pitchside Suite at Worcester Warriors' Sixways Stadium at 7.30pm.

Costing £30 per person, it features a three-course dinner, entertainment and the player-of-the-season prizes.

Meanwhile, a sponsored walk up Snowdon in North Wales will raise funds for Worcester City's Supporters' Trust.

Two representatives of the group, City director Mike Davis and Liam Wood, will be joining other fans' organisations from across the country on Sunday, June 29.
