BEING able to tick off new grounds is a past-time enjoyed by plenty of football fans.

While securing membership into the 92 Club by attending a match at every current Premier League and Football League stadium is the aim of some, visiting a new venue at any level also derives pleasure.

Non-league fans are no exception and today Worcester City will venture into new territory when they take on Fylde at Kellamergh Park (3pm).

Located in Warton, near to Lytham on the Lancashire coast, it is a ground fast gaining a reputation in Vanarama Conference North as a fortress.

The Blue and Whites will be looking to be first team to beat the newly-promoted Coasters on their own patch this season.

Kellamergh Park is also the first of three new grounds City are set to visit during the course of their league travels this season.

Trips to Chorley’s Victory Park in February and Lowestoft’s Crown Meadow in April will be firsts for Carl Heeley’s side.

In both cases, Worcester will be bidding to complete the double having recorded respective 2-0 and 2-1 victories at Aggborough already this season.

Last term City added Rugby Town’s Butlin Road and Lincoln City’s Sincil Bank to the list during FA Cup replays, eventually crashing out at the hands of the Imps.

Llanelian Road, the home of Colwyn Bay, is another City have played at for the first time in recent campaigns.

They also became acquainted with a number of new grounds during their Conference South days, including Bishop’s Stortford’s Woodside Park, also a stadium they have travelled to in the north division.

Meanwhile, the club have launched a raffle in a bid to attract more sponsorship.

Offering a prize for every entrant, ranging from company logos on shirts to match and programme sponsorship, it costs £250 to enter.
