WORCESTER City are rewarding the loyalty of their fans by laying on a free bus service to the FA Cup match against Greenwich Borough.

The Blue and Whites will be running three coaches to the eagerly-anticipated fourth qualifying round encounter at Aggborough on Sunday, October 26.

With the fixture effected by Sunday train timetables, City have joined forces with Stourport-based Coniston Coaches to transport supporters from Worcester.

Free travel will be provided for 175 people on a first come, first served basis in two 49-seater buses and one double decker.

Fans can be picked up at the Bull Ring flats bus stops in St John’s, Pitchcroft car park, the Postal Order in Foregate Street, Oak Apple in London Road or the New Inn in Ombersley Road.

Coaches should arrive at Aggborough for 1.30pm, with pick-up times and booking information available at tomorrow’s Vanarama Conference North match against Harrogate Town (3pm) by visiting the supporters’ trust stand in the bar.

City director Mike Davis said: “When we moved to Aggborough last season the gloomy prediction was for gates to plummet to 300 or even less. How wrong we were. Our fans have remained loyal to the club.

“The numbers who turned out and the vocal support at Leamington and again on Tuesday night for the replay was tremendous and so encouraging for everyone associated with City.

“As a gesture of thanks we are, in conjunction with Coniston Coaches, providing free travel for 175 fans to next Sunday’s game against Greenwich Borough.”

Manager Carl Heeley has also praised the fans this season and felt their efforts were rewarded with the victory over Leamington.

“The supporters did their bit, they were vocal, created a good atmosphere and I’m delighted for them all,” he said.
