COVENTRY City boss Steven Pressley says he won’t underestimate Worcester City in tomorrow’s FA Cup first-round showdown at the Ricoh Arena (2pm).

Pressley, also known as Elvis, has run the rule over Carl Heeley’s men and admits he knows a lot about the Blue and Whites.

He said: “I’ve got all their statistics. They’ve got a striker with good speed in Daniel Nti, who is their top scorer.

“They’ve got two physical strikers who didn’t start the game last week, but we anticipate one will play against us.

“They have good footballers in the middle of the pitch with (Ellis) Deeney, (Danny) Jackman and (Sean) Geddes who are all good in possession and try to play.

“They are not a big and physical side, they’re a side that like to play and their manager has done really well for them.

“They’re eight games unbeaten so they’ll come to the Ricoh with confidence and with absolutely nothing to lose, so it makes for a very interesting game but one we must take care of to make sure we’re in the next round.

“As we saw when Chelsea played Shrewsbury recently, if you are not absolutely at it then an upset can be on the cards and that’s why this competition is so exciting and often throws up upsets.

“But we have to make sure we’re not one of them this weekend.”

Pressley’s opposite number Heeley has had a busy week after his wife gave birth on Tuesday morning.

The Sky Blues boss joked: “Carl’s having a good week but I just hope it doesn’t end up being a great week for him. But he’s having a good period just now because he’s been in contention for manager of the month and it’s good to see that.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Worcester City and their fans, who are travelling in numbers and will help make it a great spectacle and atmosphere, which is what the FA Cup is all about.”

He added: “For Coventry, it’s a really exciting cup with great memories. What it did for the club and city was fantastic.

“We have not taken our foot off the accelerator and very much mirrored the previous week where we have been out most afternoons working on different aspects of our play. Hopefully, that will be reflected on Sunday.”
