DANIEL Nti reckons Worcester City’s victory at Harrogate was just reward for their patience and endeavour.

The striker came off the bench to score twice, alongside one from Sean Geddes, in a second-half controlled by the visitors following a mediocre first period.

He said: “Teams know about us now so they’re trying to frustrate us in the first-half. We just had to keep our heads and work through the game. Luckily, it worked in the second-half and we went on to win the game comfortably.

“That 3-0 win is testament to how we’re playing at the moment.”

Nti added: “I’m pleased to score at any time in any game so I was happy to come on, score and help the team out.

“If I’m on the bench, I can’t lose my head. I need to keep the right attitude and hopefully impact on the game. I’m happy that’s happened.”

Manager Carl Heeley said: “The first-half was a bit scrappy and we struggled to keep the ball. Nathan Vaughan had to make a couple of important saves.

“At the moment we’re full of confidence and we felt that if we could up the tempo then we would get opportunities. The positive changes we can make off the bench are working for us. Dan has come on and got a couple of goals and Sean’s scored another great goal.

“It was a classic away performance and we’re delighted with it. To keep a clean sheet and win the game comfortably is very pleasing.”

City are up to 10th in the table but Heeley is not putting any pressure on his players.

He said: “We’ve always said we want to finish as high up the league as we can. We’re not even at Christmas yet and there’s a long way to go but we are delighted to be 11 games unbeaten and confidence is good.

“The signs are quite positive and if we can keep going, and get some fortune with injuries, you never know.”
