WORCESTER City manager Carl Heeley is expecting to have a fully fit squad for Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Scunthorpe United (2pm).

Heeley rang the changes for Monday’s 3-0 Conference North victory at Hyde but believes City will be at full strength for the second-round clash.

Keeper Nathan Vaughan aggravated a neck problem in the warm-up at Ewen Fields and was replaced by Jose Veiga but the injury is not serious.

Defensive duo George Williams (ribs) and Graham Hutchison, who cramped up in Saturday’s 3-0 FA Trophy victory over Barrow at Aggborough, were left out as precautions.

Forwards Daniel Nti and Jordan Murphy were also rested.

Michael Taylor marked his first start of the season with a goal at Hyde, while strike partner Mike Symons came off the bench to add a second with Tristan Dunkley getting the third.

Heeley said: “We left George, Hutch, Jordan and Dan out and Shabir Khan was tired after Saturday so we left him out as well.

“Nathan Vaughan must have slept funny on his neck.

“We named him but it was obvious in the warm-up he wouldn’t be able to play.

“It is a concern but I don’t anticipate any problems.”

The City boss continued: “I decided to leave Symmo on the bench because he has played a lot of games and just come back from injury.

“To put Tristan and Michael in and for them to get a goal apiece, then for Symmo to come on and score, was brilliant.

“Michael has been patient and he’s an integral part of the squad. He’s a lively character and everybody loves him. He’s bided his time, scored a goal and could have had a hat-trick.”

Victory in Manchester lifted City to eighth in the Conference North table and extended their unbeaten run to 13 games.

Heeley added: “It’s another good win and, considering the number of changes we made, it just goes to show that everybody in the squad is full of confidence.

“The biggest thing for me is that, after the Coventry win, people could have been forgiven if we had taken our mind off things before Scunthorpe.

“The fact we have won every game since then just shows they are a great bunch of lads and haven’t lost focus.”
