MANAGER Carl Heeley says victory over Oxford City mattered more than the performance.
The Blue and Whites scrapped out a 1-0 win on a divot-strewn Aggborough pitch courtesy of Wayne Thomas’ 60th-minute strike.
“It wasn’t a classic game by any stretch of the imagination, it was very tight with hardly any chances,” Heeley said.
“I thought we just shaded it chances-wise and we ground out a win. The surface isn’t great and all that matters is winning the game.”
Tristian Dunkley replaced new signing Aaron Brown five minutes into the second-half and Heeley was pleased with his impact.
The City boss said: “Tristian was positive from his first touch but we have got to remember that prior to that the boys had given us that platform by scrapping for every ball.”
