RYAN Boot says he is thrilled to be back at Worcester City after continuing his impressive run for the club.

The 20-year-old keeper saved an 85th-minute penalty from Jamie Ellison among a string of stops in Saturday’s 2-0 victory at Colwyn Bay in Conference North.

Boot, on loan from Port Vale until the end of the season, replaced Nathan Vaughan (foot injury), while Jose Veiga was on the bench.

He is yet to lose with Worcester in six matches over three loan spells and felt they were worthy winners.

Boot said: “We played well. We could have finished it in the first-half if we had taken our chances but we’ve won 2-0 and are all delighted.

“I had a look at his (Ellison’s) run-up before he was taking the penalty and guessed the right way — but the lads played brilliantly.

“Worcester are a good club, run well and they’re good lads so I enjoy it.”

City boss Carl Heeley said: “I really rate Ryan. He’s a super lad and a great keeper.

“He’s always done very well for us so, when the opportunity came to bring him in, it had to happen and he proved his worth.”
