WORCESTER City have this evening released a statement updating fans on the latest ground-share developments, the conclusion of the St Modwen contract and the resignation of director Rich Widdowson.

Issued on behalf of chairman Anthony Hampson, it reads: "The Directors of Worcester City Football Club wish to update shareholders and supporters on a number of matters.

"Contract with St Modwen - the St Modwen agreement has now been concluded and all outstanding monies have now been passed over to the Football Club. The Corporation Tax Bill has also been settled in full.

Although there are no longer any contractual or financial obligations still outstanding, the Board will not, for reasons of commercial confidentiality, be releasing any details of the terms of the agreement at this point.

Worcester City Football Club would, however, wish to place on record its thanks to St Modwen for the professional way it has handled the Club’s exit from the Nunnery Way contracts.

Ground Share - the Board is currently negotiating a further two year ground share arrangement. Following a successful spell at Aggborough, the Club has approached the Kidderminster Harriers to ascertain whether a further period of ground sharing at Aggborough would be feasible. As ever the Harriers Directors have been extremely helpful and have offered the Club a further two year deal.

However, the Board has a responsibility to manage the Club’s finances and ensure that Worcester City Football Club remains viable long into the future. This is a responsibility the Board takes very seriously which and as a consequence it has been reviewing all the options available to it so that these can be taken into account when making a final decision. The Club hopes to be in a position to announce further details shortly.

It is important to stress that whatever choice the Club make in terms of future Ground share this is only a short term solution until the Perdiswell Sports Project is enabled by the Planners as the Club is committed to this as its main conduit for a viable Community Hub accessible by all.

Boardroom Changes – Rich Widdowson has recently relinquished his role as a Director. Everyone associated with the Club will know the amount of work Rich puts in on the Club’s behalf. Although no longer serving on the Board, Rich will continue to be actively involved with the Club, overseeing the Club website and producing the match highlights videos which are enjoyed by supporters. Additionally, Rich will be concentrating his efforts on moving the new stadium proposals at Perdiswell forward through the ongoing work being undertaken jointly with the Supporters’ Trust."
