WORCESTER City may be forced to draft in emergency cover for tomorrow’s visit of Gainsborough Trinity (3pm) as their injury crisis continues to bite.

The Blue and Whites have an ever-growing list of casualties and manager Carl Heeley has expressed his concern at the situation.

Right-back Kyle Haynes played through the pain barrier with a thigh problem in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Guiseley, while forward Tristian Dunkley came off at half- time with a groin issue and centre-half Wayne Thomas picked up a knock.

City are also sweating on the fitness of academy midfielder Dean Waldron, who has a knee injury, and are already without long-term absentees Tyler Weir (foot), Connor Gater (groin), Michael Taylor (hamstring) and keeper Na - than Vaughan (foot).

Shabir Khan’s three-match suspension, which the Football Association have referred to an independent regulatory commission, also starts tomorrow.

Heeley is considering dipping into the loan market but already has already borrowed keeper Ryan Boot from Port Vale and left-back Johnny Lynch and winger Micah Evans from Southport.

The City boss said: “The biggest worry I’ve got at the moment is fitness of players and availability because we’re down to the bare bones. We’ve got got six or seven players injured which is going to test any squad.

“We’ve had so many games and it was always going to be testing for us. We’ve got to try to get a couple of players registered to just give us those numbers.

“We can only take five loan players in any squad of 16 so we can only bring two players in. We might have to do that.”

City, who have played six games in the last three weeks, followed up last Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Chorley with another hard-fought point against Guiseley.

They are also looking for a first win in four matches but victory would see them complete the double over Trinity following October’s 2-1 win at Northolme.

Gainsborough, who lost 1-0 at home to Harrogate Town in midweek, are 17th in the table and have lost their last two away games at Leamington and Chorley.

Meanwhile, Worcester will face landlords Kidderminster Harriers in the Worces - tershire FA Senior Cup final at Aggborough on Tuesday, April 21 (7.45pm).

It will be the first meeting between the sides since City beat Harriers 3-1 in the senior cup quarter-final in November 2010.

Worcester last won the competition in 1997, while Kidderminster’s most recent success came in the 2009-10 campaign.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children and concessions.
