ONE of Worcester City's FA Cup heroes is leaving the club.
Keeper Nathan Vaughan, 33, saved Reda Johnson's penalty in Worcester's famous 2-1 FA Cup first-round win at Coventry City.
He also starred in the second-round replay with Scunthorpe United at Aggborough before the hosts bowed out after a mammoth penalty shoot-out.
But Vaughan, who left landlords Kidderminster Harriers for City last summer, said today: "I hate goodbyes! Thanks to all the players, staff and supporters at Worcester. It's been a pleasure!"
The Birmingham-based keeper, who also includes Evesham United among a string of former clubs, saw his appearances restricted by a troublesome foot injury in the second half of the season.
Vaughan was then sent off for violent conduct in a 1-1 Conference North draw at Lowestoft in early April.
He kept seven clean sheets in 32 games during the 2014-15 campaign.
A City statement said: "Nathan has today confirmed he will be leaving the club.
"We thank him for his service and the memories, especially that penalty save at Coventry."
