Worcester (3-4-1-2):
6 Vaughan: Not a great deal to do until the latter stages when he was well protected by his defence. Some huge clearances that, with fine tuning, will be a huge asset.
7 Weir: A good all-round display both defensively and as an outlet down the right wing.
6 Campion: First game in a while after suffering a groin strain in pre-season. Looked tired as the game drew to a frenzied finale.
6 Morris: Put in another solid shift as part of a back-three but fell foul of an over-officious referee and was sent off in injury-time for a second booking.
7 McDonald: Rarely looked in danger and marshalled the defence supremely. The arrival of the wily Darryn Stamp brought a tougher test late on.
7 Gudger: Another faultless display and put in some vital blocks in the closing stages as Gainsborough pressed for a winner.
6 Nti: Struggled against the height and physicality of Trinity defender Adam Quinn.
7 Deeney: Following an indifferent pre-season looked to be heading back to his best with some sublime passes.
7 Rowe: Boosted by his goals in the final friendly against Blues, was a livewire throughout and linked well with Sean Geddes.
6 Geddes: Found limited space in a crowded midfield although he did link up well with former Stourbridge team-mate Ryan Rowe at times.
7 NASH: A tireless performance on his debut as he harried the opposition. Pivotal in a number of City’s best moves.
SUBS: Vincent 7 (for Nti 63), Dunkley 6 (for Rowe 69), Haynes 7 (for Campion 77). Subs not used: Gater, Lloyd-Weston.
Gainsborough: Budtz 7, Roma 6, Lacey 6, Binns 7, QUINN 8, Picton 6, Russell 7, Davis 6 (D’Laryea 69, 6), Bignall 6, Jarman 7, Yates 6 (Stamp 78, 7).
Subs not used: Wilson, Rigby, Karkach.
Man of the match: George Nash.
