WORCESTER City joint manager Carl Heeley admits his patience is running thin after players picked up three red cards in the Aggborough club’s opening four games.

The full impact of those sendings off will start to hit tomorrow when City play host to Chorley (3pm).

Teenage defender Keiron Morris saw red in the closing stages of the opening match at Gainsborough Trinity and will be suspended this weekend.

Ashley Vincent will then miss three matches, starting with the trip to Brackley Town next Saturday, and these will coincide with Clayton McDonald’s one-match ban after his midweek dismissal at Solihull Moors.

Heeley said: “Fortunately Keiron’s suspension will be over and done with on Saturday but Ashley’s ban could cause us a problem.

“He will miss games over the bank holiday and we already have Tristan Dunkley unavailable then because he is away — that’s one of the problems with part-time football!

“But while you cannot do much about players being unavailable, you can do something about their discipline.

“We have spoken to the players but, in the four games we’ve had, we’ve had that conversation three times.

“You need to give the boys a chance to change but at some point you have to take it to the next level. One way or another we will improve our discipline.”

While Heeley has to deal with losing his suspended trio, he has had a boost with players coming back from injury and from those who have battled to reach the required fitness levels after missing pre-season.

Rob Elvins played more than half the game at Solihull Moors on Tuesday, his first appearance of the season, while Danny Jackman is also ready to return.

Heeley added: “When they found they weren’t in the squad for our opening game, the first thing they did was to put in extra sessions.

“Rob got his chance at Solihull while Jacko is still waiting to get a look-in. But his attitude has been first class. He is a real professional and understands the situation at the club.

“When he does come in then the player whose shirt he takes will find it very difficult to get it back because Danny Jackman is a very good player.”

Tyler Weir should also be back in contention after missing the last two games with a head injury.
