WORCESTER City have released goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston.

Lloyd-Weston slipped down the pecking order after the arrival of James Severn last month.

Severn, a former Derby County and Scunthorpe United custodian, joined City after Lloyd-Weston injured his shoulder in a 2-1 defeat at Alfreton Town.

The experienced Nathan Vaughan reclaimed the number one jersey in City’s impressive 2-0 victory at FC United last Friday in Vanarama National League North.

Lloyd-Weston, who was also registered with Midland League Premier Division Hereford, signed for Worcester after impressing during their pre-season programme.

The Hartpury College student had ended last season at Northern Premier Division One South club Newcastle Town.

George Nash will dual register with a club closer to his home as he tries to maintain his fitness.

And City are planning to utilise other loans and dual registrations to keep the squad on their toes.

Meanwhile, joint-manager Matt Gardiner believes Wayne Thomas’ experience will boost City’s squad in their bid to climb the table.

Thomas has re-signed for Worcester after a coaching spell with New York Red Bulls in the USA.

Gardiner said "Wayne's experience will be invaluable on and off the pitch and the whole squad will benefit as a result.

"His leadership skills will complement the other leaders we have in the squad and we hope the supporters will be as delighted as Carl Heeley and I to see him back."
