Worcester: (4-2-3-1)

7 Vaughan – Not a lot for him to do but still alert to pull off an excellent save deep in injury-time.

7 Minihan – An all-round energetic performance as he pushed up at every opportunity while still having the pace to put in those vital challenges.

6 Gudger – Was found out positionally a couple of times but put in some crunching tackles at left-back.

8 Thomas – Hardly put a foot wrong as he tracked Gateshead dangerman Ryan Bowman while marshalling the City back four with great aplomb.

7 Sharpe – Solid in the heart of the Worcester defence, he won the vast majority of his battles.

7 Gater – Worked hard in his holding role in front of the back four but also provided some ammunition for the forwards.

7 Nti – Worked well in conjunction with Minihan on the right though this often saw him defending rather than in a more natural attacking role.

8 DEENEY – Yet again the skipper provided the glue for an excellent City display. Central to everything and totally composed. His corners let to the goals.

8 Burton – Utilised all his experience to torment the home defence and took his two goals brilliantly. The match winner.

8 Geddes – Had an excellent afternoon on a huge pitch with plenty of space for him to show off his skills.

6 Vincent – Looked a little rusty after missing a handful of games with a back injury. Made way midway through the second half.
