WORCESTER City can look forward to a money-spinning FA Cup first-round tie at League One giants Sheffield United.

Last season's cup heroes will aim to repeat their stunning efforts of 2014-15 when they won 2-1 at Coventry City before only going out after a mammoth penalty shoot-out in a home second-round replay with Scunthorpe United.

The match at Bramall Lane will be played on the weekend of November 6, 7 and 8 and City will hope for extra cash through either live television coverage or a highlights package.

Vanarama National League North side City earned £12,500 in prize money for winning 2-1 at Gateshead in the fourth qualifying round on Saturday when experienced forward Deon Burton bagged both goals.

The Aggborough tenants had already collected £12,000 for beating Holbeach United and Solihull Moors in the previous stages after home replays.

Burton, who played for United's big rivals Sheffield Wednesday for three years and joined City in September, is certainly up for the cup tie and appeared on television as BBC Two screened the draw tonight.

The 39-year-old said: "It's a great draw. After winning through last season against a League One team (Coventry), the boys will be raring to go.

"They did very well last season. That's where I think we got the inspiration from for Saturday's win. It drove us through the last round. The boys want to do it again."

Burton, a former Jamaican international who also played for Portsmouth and Derby County among a string of other clubs, celebrated his birthday the day after grabbing the brace at National League high-fliers Gateshead.

The promotion-chasing Blades, managed by former Southampton boss Nigel Adkins, are sixth in League One.

United spent the 2006-07 campaign in the Premier League but were relegated.

Stourbridge's reward for dumping out higher-ranked Kidderminster Harriers 3-0 on Saturday will be an unglamorous trip to Dover Athletic.
