“EXCEPTIONAL” teenager Shaun Donnellan will remain at Worcester City for a further month but his West Bromwich Albion team-mate George Cleet has left the National League North club.

Donnellan has impressed in all four of his appearances for City, including a stunning strike against Corby Town.

Joint-manager Carl Heeley said he was delighted to agree a deal with the Premier League side to extend the 18-year-old’s stay.

“He has been exceptional and if he continues to develop and learn the game, then he could have a bright future in front of him,” said Heeley, who moved the promising centre back into midfield at AFC Fylde last Saturday.

“He has got a lot of energy and, with Ellis (Deeney) going, we needed that type of player in midfield. He did a great job last weekend.”

Centre-back Cleet, 19, also showed his quality but, with Tom Sharpe, Wayne Thomas and Alex Gudger back from injury, Heeley let him go.

“We are not going to keep these lads if they are not going to play because that wouldn’t be fair and we have an abundance of centre-halves now,” Heeley added.
