ATTACKING midfielder Marius Ologu looks set to be given the opportunity to get more minutes under his belt – but not at Worcester City.

The Blue and Whites are trying to set the Romanian up with a new club on a dual-registration contract in a bid to provide him with game-time.

Ologu was snapped up by City last month after joint-managers Carl Heeley and Matt Gardiner spotted the former Dudley Town player in a training session.

Heeley admitted they had taken a “punt” on the 26-year-old, who has previously played professional football in Romania, and believed his creativity could help the team.

However, since arriving at the Vanarama National League North club, Ologu has only appeared in the match-day squad once when he was an unused substitute at AFC Fylde.

Heeley said the player had a future at City but was unable to offer him a platform to press his case.

“Marius has been training but we are going to try to get him a couple of games somewhere else just to get some minutes under his belt,” Heeley said.

“It will more than likely be on a dual-registration basis where we can get him a couple of games here and there, which will be good.”

George Nash joined Banbury United on a dual-registration contract in October.

The 23-year-old midfielder has since made 23 appearances at the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West side and Heeley said he had no plans on calling him back this season.

“Nothing is changing with George as he is still playing games at Banbury,” Heeley said.

“We are happy with the situation because at this moment in time we feel we have got enough in that area, so there is no point calling him back if we are not going to play the lad.

“With the players we have got available to us, we feel we are strong enough there.”
