WORCESTER City will play at Bromsgrove Sporting’s Victoria Ground from next season after securing a ground-sharing deal.

Bromsgrove have agreed a two-year deal with the Vanarama National League North club with an option to extend the agreement for a third year.

Chairman Anthony Hampson insisted Bromsgrove was the “best option” for the club while they continue to play away from Worcester.

Since announcing on March 1 they would be leaving Aggborough at the end of the season, work has been underway to ensure the Victoria Ground was “appropriately graded”.

The deal was formally agreed by the National League today and Hampson said their agreement with Sporting would help the club financially.

“Having looked at all options, Bromsgrove Sporting was considered to the best option for the club, based not only on the financial considerations but also the extent of the work required to enable an appropriate ground grading certificate to be achieved," Hampson said.

“Clearly the club sees any ground-share option as a temporary arrangement and it will continue to work tirelessly to return to the city of Worcester, as a matter of urgency.

“In the meantime, the club is grateful for the support Bromsgrove Sporting has given to enable the club to continue playing at its current level in the interim period.”

Bosses at City also said they intend to continue to investigate travel and parking concessions for supporters.

Sporting chairman Jon Prescott said they were pleased to welcome Worcester to Bromsgrove and wanted to help them to achieve their ultimate aim of returning to the city.
