A FANS’ forum is being held tomorrow to discuss proposals to move Worcester City Supporters’ Trust forward.

Fans are being invited along with trust members to the open meeting at King George V Community Centre, Brickfields, at 8pm.

The trust’s bid to make City a Community Benefit Society was rejected at a general meeting last month.

However, the trust, who are behind proposals to create a 4,100-capacity stadium at Perdiswell Park, insist it “does not stop” any plans they are working on.

“The supporters' trust is already a Community Benefit Society and will see the Perdiswell application to a conclusion,” a trust spokesman said.

“We will be able to give an update on some of the funding streams we have been looking at and a very brief look at another club who are going through this process now.”

A member of Exeter City Supporters’ Trust is expected to attend the forum to talk about their experiences.

City supporters’ trust have been at loggerheads with chairman Anthony Hampson and his directors over the future running of the Vanarama National League North outfit.

But last month Hampson said City’s board and fans’ trust had “cleared the air” following a “really positive” meeting.

In a joint statement, they said the board were willing to review the structure of the club “at the right time”, including the option of community ownership.

In the short to medium term, it added the focus was on “ensuring the continued financial stability” of City and admitted the “assurances” were welcomed by representatives of the trust.

Trust director Richard Widdowson said they remained determined to secure the future of the club, who have about £530,000 left in the bank.

“They (the board) voted against the proposals for change, so there is nothing we can do about that now,” he said.

“We are going to move the trust forward, so what the club does and how they move forward is up for them to decide.

“We will discuss what was offered from the board and our response to them.

“That’s common courtesy to our members.”
