MANAGER Carl Heeley is considering making changes for Worcester City’s second qualifying round replay at AFC Telford United tonight (7.45pm).

City’s boss admitted there were “a few tired legs” in his side after drawing 0-0 against Telford at the Victoria Ground on Saturday.

Heeley revealed he was looking to freshen his side up in a bid to overcome Telford and clinch a place in the third qualifying round against Brackley Town at home on Saturday, October 1 (3pm).

Centre-back Graham Hutchison and midfielder Junior English will return after serving their bans.

But there are injury concerns over defender Tom Sharpe (back) and full-back Tyler Weir, who played the full 90 minutes at the weekend despite Heeley admitting he was not “100 per cent fit”.

“Hutch and Junior will be back available to us,” said Heeley, whose side have already played 12 matches since the season got under way last month.

“But there are a few tired legs out there as it has been a really heavy schedule since we kicked off in early August, so we might have to freshen it up.

“But we have got the players to do that, so whoever comes in I know they will do a good job for the club.”

Sharpe received treatment on his back midway through the first half before helping his side secure a third successive clean sheet.

“Tom has knocked his back, so hopefully that will settle down and he will be available,” Heeley added.

Experienced defender James Chambers could come back into the fold as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Centre-half Kieron Morris, who broke his hand in pre-season, also appears to be close to making his first appearance of the campaign after being on the bench against Telford.

“Kieron would not have been on the bench in normal circumstances but that’s all we had available because of the injuries and suspensions we have got,” he said.

“He needs to get minutes as he is short of match fitness but I needed a defender on the bench and he gives us that cover.”

Heeley is expecting another close encounter at the New Bucks Head and has urged his side to be “more ruthless” in front of goal.

“I thought possession-wise there was nothing in the game (on Saturday),” he said.

“But we clearly had the better of the chances and probably should have won the game based on the chances we had.

“It hasn’t happened, so we go to the replay and have to be more ruthless because we will get opportunities.”
