ATTACKING midfielder Ebby Nelson-Addy believes there is “more to come” from Worcester City’s new recruit Micah Evans.

The 23-year-old winger, who joined City from AFC Telford United last week, is set to make his home debut on Saturday when they tackle Stalybridge Celtic (3pm).

Nelson-Addy played alongside Evans for the first time last weekend as Worcester held Boston United to a 0-0 draw at the Jakemans Stadium.

And Nelson-Addy says the former Blackburn Rovers academy ace’s attacking style will make him a hit at the Victoria Ground.

“I met him for the first time last week and we were told he was fast and direct,” he said.

“Speaking to him, he said this was his first game in a month, so he did really well to last 75 minutes.

“We are happy with him and we know there is more to come from him.”

With Evans installed on the wing, manager Carl Heeley switched from a 4-4-2 to a 4-2-3-1 formation to face Boston.

“There are a lot of options for the gaffer to play different formations with players who can play in various positions,” Nelson-Addy continued.

“We are always looking to get better. As there are people on the fringes working hard to get in and players working hard to keep their place, there is a lot of competition.”

Nelson-Addy was back playing a more advanced role at Boston after a stint in central midfield alongside captain Danny Jackman.

But the former Hartlepool United player, who has also played out wide this season, insisted he was “happy to play anywhere” for City.

“I like to have a scrap and want to get on the ball as much as I can and get us playing,” he said.

“I like it when we keep the ball on the floor. Obviously you can’t do that all the time but, when we play a few passes, I think we look better.”

After a run of seven games without a win, Worcester have won three out of their last six league games.

And Nelson-Addy is hopeful of improving that record when they take on 21st-placed Stalybridge, who have lost six of their seven away matches.

“At the start of the season, it was tough as it was a new team and we didn’t know each other,” he said.

“But there was always going to be a bedding-in period and after that we have done well.

“So we have just got to take it game by game and see where we go.”
