WORCESTER City have signed winger Connor Hughes from Vanarama National League North rivals Halifax Town.

The 23-year-old has penned an 18-month deal for an undisclosed fee and will bolster manager Carl Heeley’s attacking options.

He has previously been on the books of League One side Oldham, making 10 appearances before being released and signing for Hyde in 2013.

After two seasons at Ewen Fields, Hughes made the move to Halifax where he made more than 30 appearances, scoring four goals.

He has turned out just seven times this season and says he is excited to arrive at 12th placed City.

“I'm absolutely delighted to be joining Worcester City,” Hughes said.

“It's been a frustrating 18 months or so at Halifax and I'm looking forward to kicking on again and helping the team to do well."
