WORCESTER City have vowed to clamp down on Kidderminster Harriers supporters getting into the home end at the Victoria Ground for their Boxing Day derby.

Earlier this week, Harriers sold out their allocation of 800 tickets for the much-anticipated Vanarama National League North clash on Monday, December 26 (3pm).

Tickets will go on general sale for City fans between 1.30pm and 2.45pm on Saturday ahead their side’s clash against AFC Fylde, with access via the social club.

Speculation is circulating on “various social media platforms” that Harriers fans are planning to turn up at the Victoria Ground to try to obtain tickets.

However, City insist there will be “additional checks” with the help of staff from Kidderminster to ensure they go to Worcester supporters.

A club spokesman said: “We understand from information passed to the club and information gathered from various social media platforms and online forums that Kidderminster supporters who have not been able to obtain a ticket for the away end will try to obtain tickets either at the AFC Fylde fixture or from the Tourist Information Centre.

“We will be putting in place additional checks on the day of sales which will include staff from Kidderminster Harriers who will look to identify any Kidderminster supporters in attendance trying to obtain tickets for the home end.

“Furthermore, on Boxing Day any Kidderminster supporters found to be in the home end of the ground will be ejected and no refunds will be issued.”

They also stressed entry to the match would be “strictly by ticket only” and there would be no sales of tickets on the day of the game.

No train services will run but a limited bus service between Worcester and Bromsgrove is available.

The club’s safety officer has been in touch with council bosses over the use of pay and display car parks, but they have confirmed all charges will remain in place.
