City (4-3-3)
7 Vaughan – made a good save to deny Lloyd in the opening stages and organised his defence well throughout as City claimed a clean sheet.
8 Chambers – was rock solid, keeping a tight rein on potent attacker Lloyd and pushed forward on several occasions.
7 Hutchison – was part of a strong defensive display, limiting Stockport's chances as he won many aerial battles.
7 Oji – not a faultless display but helped keep out the play-off chasers and battled on after taking a knock at the end of the first half.
9 WEIR – with Danny Jackman on the bench the full-back was handed the captain’s armband and rarely put a foot wrong. My man of the match.
6 Steele – looked lively but was forced off on the half-hour mark with a re-occurrence of his hamstring injury, making way for Nelson-Addy.
6 J Keane – after a sloppy start the midfielder grew into the contest although he was guilty of giving away silly free-kicks.
8 C Keane – gave City real impetus down the left, constantly asking questions of County’s defence and his powerful strike was tipped over by Ormson.
7 English – returning to the side after his hamstring problem, the 31-year-old worked tirelessly up front but missed a great chance in the first half.
7 Murphy – picked up an injury with 10 minutes remaining after a dogged display from the forward who did not forget his defensive duties.
6 Muskwe – plugged away, winning numerous flicks, but failed to end his goal drought as he was twice denied by Ormson and went close with a volley.
