PLACES have been filled for Worcester City’s first-team trials after receiving a “massive response”.

Less than 24 hours after announcing they will be holding trials at the University of Worcester on June 24, City have been inundated with footballers keen to secure a place.

The cut-off date for registration was Tuesday, June 20, but the club released a statement saying the spots were filled.

Joint managers Lee Hughes and John Snape are preparing for the Midland League Premier Division after dropping three levels.

A club statement read: “We have now closed the registration for the first-team trials at Worcester University on Saturday, June 24.

"We have had a massive response to this and would like to thank everyone who has registered.

"We will be in touch with everyone to let you know if you have been successful and also to inform those who have been successful the relevant times."
