VERSATILE Droitwich Spa ace Jamie Smith has returned to Worcester City for next season’s Midland League Premier Division campaign.
Smith signed for City last term but was loaned out to Mark Owen's Spa where he played 35 games, scoring four goals and providing 18 assists.
Smith is a product of City’s youth academy and was brought into the first-team squad by then manager Carl Heeley.
The player is City's sixth summer signing.
Worcester-born duo Brad Birch and Nathan Hayward, attacking midfielders Matt Birley and Josh Harris-James, and Romanian defender Albert Alexandru have previously signed for City.
Smith said: "I feel privileged and excited to be back and playing for my home-town club.”
Smith can play at left-back or on the left-side of midfield.
He netted a stunning free-kick against Boston United at Aggborough in the 2015/2016 campaign.
City joint managers John Snape and Lee Hughes said: "We cannot wait to work with Jamie again for the coming season. He is a player we know well and with a bright future ahead of him."
