WORCESTER City Youth got off to a great start to the Junior Premier League season.

With two new teams joining the set-up the club now boast a full complement of age groups in the competition.

The new under 10s and under 16s played their first games on pitches at Perdiswell by the leisure centre following improvement work on the ground over the summer.

The club will host six games at Perdiswell this weekend and hope to create a fine atmosphere at the venue which has been out of action for a number of seasons.

They have previously had to split fixtures between five different grounds.

The under 10s scores are not recorded but they enjoyed an entertaining, competitive game against Kidderminster Harriers.

City's under 16s drew 2-2 with West Hagley.

There were away wins for the other sides with the under 12s beating Hereford RTC 2-0 and the under 13s defeating WBA Gloucestershire 5-0.

Goals galore saw the under 14s thrash Ignite Academy 8-3 and the under 15s hammer Kidderminster Harriers 7-0.

Ed Bowers gave City's under 12s the lead in the second quarter which was quickly added to by a neat finish from Lewis Corbett.

Worcester then held firm and had chances to increase the scoreline late on ahead of Saturday's home game with Evesham United.
