COLESHILL Town returned to the Midland League summit as Jordan Nadat’s hat-trick helped to inspire a 5-0 win at Long Eaton United.
The Colemen took full advantage as Bromsgrove Sporting lost for the second time in four league outings, slipping to a 3-1 reverse at Highgate United.
Ex-Worcester striker Marco Adaggio plundered a double either side of ex-Sporting defender Duane Courtney’s strike. Jason Cowley’s late goal was scant consolation against a United side that visits City in the FA Vase second round on Saturday, November 11 (3pm).
Sporting Khalsa moved up to second with a 13th win in 15 unbeaten matches in all competitions – a 3-0 triumph over promotion-contenders Coventry United.
Kyle Brady put Khalsa a goal up inside four minutes with Craig Bannister and Liam Holt making sure of the result late on.
City sit seven points behind top spot with two games in hand on Coleshill, six behind Khalsa with two games in hand and four points behind third-placed Sporting with one game in hand.
Coventry Sphinx moved up to fifth with a 5-0 beating of Quorn.
Ryan Harkin (2), Jamie Towers, Charlie Faulkner and Callum Woodward struck to seal a fourth straight win since Sphinx changed their manager on the back of a 5-1 loss at City at the start of October.
