WESTFIELDS hope rain will not wash out a shot at a windfall with Worcester City due to visit tomorrow (7.45).

The Hereford-based club had Saturday's home league match with Heanor Town postponed due to a waterlogged pitch with more wet weather forecast over the next 24 hours.

"We wanted Saturday's game on because we had a full squad available apart from Phil Glover and Sam Gwynne, who were suspended, and Alex Hainault who was ill.," said joint-manager Sean Edwards.

"Andy (Morris, chief executive) went down at 8am (on Saturday) and the pitch was playable but at 10.30 it wasn't. When I went down at 1.30 there was no way the game could have gone ahead.

"Worcester City is a big game for us and we could get 300 to 400 people there."

Both teams will be keen to get the game on with more than half of their league fixtures still to play and less than 14 weeks of the season remaining.
