MATT GWYNNE 6

Would be easy to focus on his two hairy moments but other than that, was more inclined to come out and deal with crosses as well as being proactive in taking possession.

GEORGE FORSYTH 7

Provided as much attacking spark as anyone from right-back, solid enough going the other way too. A good display.

JAMIE SMITH 6

Brave in the tackle, seldom caught out defensively without quite having the same impact as recent performances going forward.

STAR MAN – JORDAN STODDART 7

Aggressive but calm, had more pressure to deal with as City endured a tough time in the final third but did so with a cool head and even dealt with the odd problem in wider positions.

MARK SMITH 7

Like Stoddart he was a calming influence on a nervy day for most, particularly on the ball. Did what he had to with composure.

NATHAN HAYWARD 6

Solid and industrious but like many of his colleagues, lacked that killer touch on a day when a City breakthrough always seemed unlikely.

MAT BIRLEY 6

Tried as always but not enough came off. He wasn’t alone in drifting into different positions to try to instigate change without having much to show for it.

BRAD BIRCH 6

Added the drive to City’s midfield but the right touch or decision was not quite there. Kept battling until the end on a frustrating afternoon for the skipper.

MARK DANKS 5

Provided as much ammunition for others as anyone else, still needs to build up his minutes to return to early-season heights. Gained valuable game time.

DAVE REYNOLDS 5

Nothing of note happened for City’s top scorer. The effort was there, though.

JAMES BALDWIN 5

Linked up well with team-mates from the left early on but drifted out of the game as collective frustration grew.
