IT has been a difficult season for Worcester City but I think there are plenty of things to build on for next year.

It’s always hard going into a new league — in our case switching from Blue Square North to South — but we can take a lot out of the campaign.

During the first season in any league you are looking to see how teams play.

The standard and quality of players we have come up against has been good but I think there are games that, if we can get set up properly, we should win next year.

It’s not as if we have been getting hammered every week and we want to be in a position to compete against any team and get results. We will have to be lucky again with injuries but I believe we can do something decent next season.

Having striker Matt Dinsmore back in the near future will be like a new signing for us and he will be a major asset for us next term.

He’s itching to get back in the team because he’s been out for a long time but it’s not worth risking him unless he’s fully fit. He’s doing a lot of running now and joined in the warm-up last Saturday.

The squad doesn’t look too bad when we have everybody available but we struggle when players are injured and we are unable to replace them.

We have created plenty of chances this season but we haven’t scored enough goals. We should also be beating teams at home and that’s what we have got to aim for next year.
