WORCESTERSHIRE'S eight-ball pool star Scott Surridge is continuing to make a name for himself in the sport after qualifying for the England Under 21 team.
Surridge, aged 18, won all six of his matches at Great Yarmouth to qualify outright for the team, and was subsequently joined by seven other players following a play-off.
The Worcester-based hot-shot will now represent his country at the World Championships, to be held in July in Blackpool.
Fellow Worcestershire players Dan Brazil and Ashley Wilde narrowly missed out on qualification for the national squad.
Surridge said: "It was really good. I was in the under 18s last year and this is my first time trialling for the next age group and I got through first time.
"I won six out of six matches and I was the first one to qualify. I didn't expect to do that well."
Surridge is part of the Worcestershire A' team, who play at Rileys in Shrub Hill, in region five of the English Pool Association.
The team have won one of their three matches so far and visit Warwickshire on Sunday.
He is also in his first year on the International Professional Pool Players Association tour and hopes to turn professional in the next few years.
