BISHOP Perowne College's under 14s boys' rugby union team enjoyed a superb season, picking up four trophies.

The girls' under 13s football team also had success, taking the South Worcestershire Cup for the first time.

In the rugby, the year nine team won all 25 games, scoring 634 points and conceding only 17 in the process.

They claimed the Worcestershire Emerging Schools Trophy before taking the North Midlands equivalent, defeating last year's national finalists Charlton, of Shropshire, 5-0.

The squad were also victorious in the Sixways Tournament Trophy and the Worcester and District Alwyn Morris Trophy, defeating Prince Henry's High School, Evesham, 29-0.

The girls won their league competition in Droitwich to claim the South Worcestershire Community Cup run by Kidderminster Harriers.

They drew with Catshill Middle and Blackminster before beating Elgar, Nunnery Wood and Witton B'.

The girls rose to the occasion against Witton in a game which could have gone either way.

Claire Hampton made the save of the match for Bishop's, tipping the ball over the bar.

Then, with only a couple of minutes to go, star striker Lauren Williams scored the winner.

The girls then played against the winners of the north competition at Aggborough but lost 2-0.
