TWO Worcester Wolves players have had their performances rewarded with places in the British Basketball League team of the week.

Alex Owumi and Stan Ocitti are both named in the quintet following their efforts in the back-to-back victories over Sheffield Sharks and Mersey Tigers.

Owumi, making his third appearance in the team this season, posted statistics of 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals against the Tigers and contributed a further 29 points and seven rebounds against the Sharks.

Power-forward Ocitti earned his first selection as a result of 19 points, including a trio of three-pointers, and 15 rebounds against Sheffield.

Owumi said: “It’s an honour to make the team for the third time, but most importantly the credit has to go to my team-mates.”

Wolves director of basketball Paul James said: “It’s fantastic for Alex.

“He’s been our leader while we await the arrival of Sherrad Prezzie-Blue.

“He’s put up some great numbers while running the team at the same time.”

He added: “Stan is a real workhorse. He can dominate around our basket and is also an offensive threat.”

Keith Page (Durham Wildcats), Jay Couisnard (Leicester Riders) and Orlan Jackman (London Lions) make up the team of the week.
