WORCESTER Wolves are waiting on the fitness of Alex Owumi and Stan Ocitti ahead of tonight’s British Basketball League trip to London Lions (7.30).

The pair, a guard and power forward respectively, have both been laid low by a sickness bug over the past week and have not been able to train.

Director of basketball Paul James was hoping to involve them in last night’s final session but is not about to risk them against the Crystal Palace-based Lions if not fully fit.

James, whose side also host Sheffield Sharks tomorrow, said: “There’s a winter vomiting virus going around and a couple of our players have had that and not been able to train for the last eight days because of it.

“Alex and Stan will be desperate to play but I’ve got to look after their personal welfare also. It’s a game of basketball and their health is more important than that.”

Wolves are also reeling from the news that point guard Sherrad Prezzie-Blue is still waiting for his passport to be issued and his expected arrival from the United States has again been put back.
