SHERRAD Prezzie-Blue could be in the UK in time to feature for Worcester Wolves at Plymouth Raiders tomorrow (4pm).

The long wait for the American point guard’s visa to be processed, which has been beset by delays, has finally ended and he could land at Heathrow as early as today ahead of the British Basketball League clash.

Director of basketball Paul James is poised to drive him from London to Devon to link up with his team-mates.

He said: “Hopefully he will be here and it might be a case of straight off the plane and down to Plymouth to join the rest of the squad.

“He’s been waiting so long I’m sure he’ll want to get involved straight away.

“It’s going to take a bit of time for him to settle in but we’ll do what we have to do to make that happen. I think for everybody it’s going to be a really big morale boost.”

Wolves are aiming to make it back-to-back victories after putting the 94-76 defeat at London Lions behind them to beat Sheffield Sharks 71-68 last Saturday. The Raiders go into the game sitting fourth in the table with seven wins, one place above Wolves.

“If you look at Plymouth invidiually they’ve got one of the most talented teams in the league but whether they play together or not is another story,” James said.

“It’s a formidable test for us and certainly we’ve got to go down there and show a bit of character and weather the storm that inevitably is going to come.”

Plymouth coach Gavin Love said: “They are a huge team with talent across the board.

“On paper they are one of the strongest and most experienced teams in the league.”

Wolves have also released British forward Stuart Thomson who joined the club in the summer.

n The Cheshire Jets have been renamed Cheshire Phoenix.
