WINNING at home has been vital for Worcester Wolves this season and on Saturday we host Glasgow Rocks (7pm) looking to continue that run.

We lost our first game of the season at the University of Worcester to Durham 82-76 back in September and we haven’t lost on our own court since.

It is a sequence that has seen us go undefeated in six games at home which is nothing to sneeze at, it’s a fantastic record, especially doing it without Sherrad Prezzie-Blue.

We could have played better at home, but we’ve been able to win our games at the university which is very important and that’s why we’re still in the top half of the table. Now we want to finish 2012 on a good note as well.

It’s important to win your home games and pick up the odd victory away and then you’ve got a chance of doing well in the British Basketball League and cup competitions.

Unfortunately, we have lost six out of seven matches away from home so we’ll look to improve that form moving into the new year.

However, we are really looking forward to this game and if we can reach the heights of the performance we had in beating Newcastle Eagles 88-73, I really fancy our chances of getting this win as well.

Glasgow beat us 85-79 in Scotland last month and they played well on the day.

We are very much a different team now and going in off the back of a tremendous victory against Newcastle.

One of the things I like to do is not lose head-to-heads against teams so it’s a chance to get back on level terms with them.

I think it’s very important that we do that to give ourselves a chance of winning the head-to-head later on in the season.

It has been nearly two weeks since the Newcastle triumph and the mood among the players has been very good.

It’s always nice to go into a break having won a game, especially beating the reigning league champions convincingly as well.

The spirit has been good and training has been focused. We’ve done a lot of different things with our strength and conditioning coach and a lot of work with our sports therapist so it’s been a fun week of practice but very focused at the same time.

Training has really stepped up a level with Prezzie and Kai Williams here, they are two quality players and it lifts the whole camp and forces everybody else to concentrate more on their game.

It’s like having another pre-season and it’s given us a chance to work on our defensive philosophy, the way we want to play, and working on our sharpness offensively.

I have been really pleased with the response from the players and the focus that they’ve shown.
