LITHUANIAN centre Arturas Masiulis has secured his second appearance in the British Basketball League team of the week.

The 32-year-old racked up 20 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots in the 90-77 win over Plymouth Raiders as Wolves moved into the last eight of the BBL Trophy.

They were gathered in only 20 minutes of action for Masiulis with his time on court limited by foul trouble.

Wolves’ director of basketball Paul James is pleased to see the increasing impact his first-year centre is having, especially now he is the prime target of many passes from returning point guard Sherrad Prezzie-Blue.

James said: “Teams are finding it more and more difficult to stop Arturas. Someone who is already hard to defend just got harder now that Prezzie is getting him the ball where he wants it.

“He had a great game against Plymouth and I’m sure he can continue to play at that level.”

Masiulis will look to continue his good form tomorrow when his side travel to Leicester Riders (7.30pm). His next outing at the University of Worcester is on Friday, January 18, as London Lions visit the city.

Wolves’ Trophy quarter-final at Newcastle Eagles has been arranged for Friday, February 8.
