Worcester Wolves star Alex Owumi named in British Basketball League team of the week

ALEX Owumi (right) has been rewarded for his match-winning display against Newcastle Eagles with a place in the British Basketball League team of the week.

The Worcester Wolves guard scored 34 points as his side recorded an impressive 94-88 BBL Trophy quarter-final victory at the home of the defending champions.

He earned praise from Wolves head coach Paul James for his performance, which helped set-up a two-legged semi-final against Leicester Riders.

Owumi tormented a sell-out crowd by making seven three-pointers in addition to three assists and three steals.

He also just missed out on a double-double by one rebound in what was the best performance across the BBL last weekend.
