HEAD coach Paul James says Worcester Wolves have added another piece to their “jigsaw” after landing swingman Danny Huffor.

The UK/US dual passport holder, who is a graduate of NCAA Division II School Newberry College, joins Wolves with a wealth of British Basketball League experience.

In the 2014/15 campaign, 6ft 4in Huffor averaged 12.4 points per game with Glasgow Rocks and then last season he averaged 16.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game with the Cheshire Phoenix.

Ironically, the 29-year-old’s best game figures came against Wolves at the University of Worcester Arena in April when he scored 38 points and took 15 rebounds in an impressive Phoenix victory.

He is the fourth player to sign for Worcester following the capture of talented trio Marek Klassen, Trevor Setty and Deondre McWhorter earlier this week.

James said: “Danny is a very talented and versatile player and there are so many strengths that Danny will bring to the Wolves at both ends of the floor.

“He has shown over the years that his work ethic has been a significant factor with all of the teams he has represented in the BBL.

“Significantly, his experience in this league will be hugely beneficial to the rest of the team.”

James added: “We are really pleased with the pieces of the jigsaw that are being put in place for next season and we are getting closer to further announcements.”

Huffor said he was also looking forward to the new challenge and has vowed to bring success to Worcester.

“I'm happy to be with the Wolves and very excited for this season,” he said.

“I'm ready to lead Worcester and bring silverware back.

“I'm all set to go and win. I hope all the Worcester fans are ready for this season.”

Perris Blackwell, Jay Couisnard, Orlan Jackman and Pavol Losonsky have left the club.

And when asked whether any of last season’s crop would be returning, coach James confirmed it was looking “increasingly unlikely”.
